Offering custom video’s for real estate marketing has been mostly reserved for the luxury market, largely due to the cost and time of production. A new video tool, that attaches to a smartphone, is set to change that perception.
At $650 USD, the Osmo is marketed as a beefed up of selfie stick, offering HD video in a steady and professional manner. The device was developed for the company Dji’s drone product, where image stabilisation is important. Realising the requirement of shooting professional videos on the ground, Dji created the Osmo, stabilising video footage for the amateur.
The result is a high end, cinematic experience no matter who is in the drivers seat. This type of technology is perfectly aligned for the real estate market. Where the Agent/Broker can offer high end HD video of the property being marketed. Once upon a time, only the luxury homes received video, being expensive due to the cost & time to produce.
A company in the US, HomeLens, is offering 2 products employing similar technology. Houselens has a complete end to end solution, where they come and shoot the house & provide complete production. Or they offer the DIY product, where you purchase the video tool and down load a map to shoot & produce yourself.
Although Houselens offer a different tool to the Osmo, they are quite similar in operation.
Having first hand experience with both of these products, I can see HD video for every home on the market.
