Real estate is an industry where CRM (Client Relationship Management) solutions are a must. The better the CRM, the better the sales agent and thus more sales. There are many solutions in the market, choosing the right CRM can have a great impact on your business. So what defines a good CRM and what should you be looking for when searching for the ideal solution for your business.

Automation is key. Ideally, a solution that can automate the tasks that take up most of your day is the best solution. As a busy salesperson, keeping track of clients can be a difficult task. Being able to easily pick up where conversations left off will ensure the client feels comfortable, listened to and looked after.

Customisable Features. There is no point employing a CRM that does not do anything; featureless. Similarly, there is no point employing a CRM that has features you do not need. The best CRM solution permits the user to add items as required. However, it is important to be careful of expensive tailoring services, where companies charge a fee to tailor the product to meet your needs. A solution that can be easily customised by the system user is the best CRM.

Cost. Some CRM solutions can cost prohibitive. A feature-packed CRM’s does not necessarily mean an expensive system. Depending on the size of the business and the number of seats (licenses) required, can direct the best purchasing plan. Largely, the SaaS (Software as a Service) offering is the ideal solution for small to medium enterprise. Most CRM’s offer the SaaS model. The traditional software purchasing offering is generally suited to a large enterprise of more than 1000 seats.

Usability. Similarly to employing a customisable & feature packed CRM, it is important to employ a solution that is easy to use and not user prohibitive. An intelligent and easy to work with CRM will mean the user (sales agent/property manager/admin person) can more effectively work with the solution, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Geography. Specifically, in real estate, it is important to consider a CRM that is aligned with local government and other real estate practices. For instance, there are great CRM solutions around the world that work very well in that specific region, however, the CRM may not be ideal for another region/country. Some leading CRM’s do make allowance for different regions and some do not; it is important to research this before implementing the CRM into the business.
